Part Two: Toil And Trouble
Hey Ahsoka fans!
The second episode of Ahsoka, titled Toil And Trouble, continued the season’s high scoring, falling just shy of the century mark at 98.5. The highest scorer this week was Ahsoka Tano (even), giving Ahsoka consecutive victories after Ahsoka Tano (odd) scored 25 points in the premiere episode.
Of the 43 League Characters in the Ahsoka Fantasy League this year, 13 scored points for their teams this week. I’ll include a scene-by-scene recap of all the scoring below, but first let’s get right to the Week 2 standings.
WEEK 2 – PART TWO RESULTS
- Soup Ahsokas – 65.5
- Beggars Canyon Bullies – 58
- nWo – 47.5
- GoForPapaPalpatine – 30.5
Finishing in first place this week with 65.5 points is Soup Ahsokas with a scoring lineup of Ahsoka Tano (even) (24 points), Sabine Wren (17.5 points), Baylan Skoll (13.5 points), Grand Admiral Thrawn (1.5 points), and Morgan Elsbeth (11.5 points).
In second place this week is Beggars Canyon Bullies with 58 points and a scoring lineup of Ahsoka Tano (even) (24 points), Sabine Wren (17.5 points), Shin Hati (5.5 points), Ezra Bridger (6 points), and Marrok (7.5 points).
In third place this week is nWo with 47.5 points and a scoring lineup of Hera Syndulla (11.5 points), Baylan Skoll (13.5 points), Ezra Bridger (6 points), Morgan Elsbeth (11.5 points), Chopper (5.5 points), and Zeb Orrelios (1 point).
In last place this week, after finishing first last week, is GoForPapaPalpatine with 30.5 points and a scoring lineup of Sabine Wren (17.5 points), Shin Hati (5.5 points), Grand Admiral Thrawn (1.5 points), Huyang (7 points), and Kanan Jarrus (1 point).
Important Scoring Note
Ezra’s hologram appeared onscreen with a loth-cat in episode 2. The encounter section of the rules states that ‘any character who appears onscreen with…’ will score points. Fantasy League Geek made a judgment call that a hologram of a character will count for encounter points.
Also, a double-bladed lightsaber will receive 1 point when both blades are ignited, in the same way Ahsoka receives 1 point for igniting both of her lightsabers. This affects Marrok’s score in this week’s episode.
Scoring Recap
The first points are scored almost immediately as a white full screen opening fades to reveal Ahsoka Tano, who scores 1 point for appearing in the episode and 5 points for appearing first onscreen.
Sabine Wren scores 5 points for the first line of dialogue: “You really think Ezra’s still out there?” during what appears to be a Force dream, scoring 0.5 additional points for using the Force. She also scores 1 point for appearing in the episode. Ezra scores 1 point for name-drops from both Sabine and Ahsoka in the dream. It’s unclear if Ahsoka is using the Force to hear the voices in Sabine’s dream, or if she only notices Sabine is restless, so she is not awarded points for using the Force. Ahsoka calls Sabine’s name to wake her and Sabine later calls Ahsoka’s name, trading 0.5 points.
Huyang scores 1 point for appearing in the episode. The scene ends with a wipe transition, giving Sabine 0.5 points for appearing onscreen. Ahsoka, Sabine, and Huyang each score 2 points for visiting the planet Lothal.
In the next scene, Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati each score 1 point for appearing in the episode, and 1 point each for visiting the planet Seatos. Baylan name-drops Morgan Elsbeth, giving her 0.5 points and scores 1 point himself for saying the name of the planet Seatos. He also scores 0.5 points for encountering a purrgil.
Ahsoka travels to the old communications tower on Lothal and scores 0.5 points for using the Force to hear voices from Sabine and Shin’s earlier conflict. She also scores 0.5 points for encountering a loth-cat. Ahsoka activates the hologram recording of Ezra, giving him 1 point for appearing in the episode, 2 points for appearing as a hologram, and 0.5 points for encountering a loth-cat. Ahsoka scores 0.5 points for igniting her lightsaber to attack the HK assassin droid that gets the drop on her.
In the next scene, Hera Syndulla scores 1 point for appearing in the episode and 2 points for appearing as a hologram. Both Sabine and Ahsoka score 1 point for saying the name of the planet Corellia. Hera scores 1 point for saying the phrase “New Republic” and Morgan Elsbeth scores 0.5 points when Ahsoka says her name. Hera scores 0.5 points when Sabine says her name and the scene ends with a wipe transition, giving Sabine 0.5 points.
Baylan, Shin, and Morgan all score 0.5 points for appearing onscreen for the latter half of the same wipe transition. Morgan scores 1 point for appearing in the episode and 1 more point for visiting the planet Seatos.
Morgan uses the Force to activate the star map, again when she hears a voice calling her name across time and space, and again to deactivate the map, scoring 2 total points. Morgan says Grand Admiral Thrawn’s name twice and Shin says his name once, giving him 1.5 points. Baylan says the name of the planet Corellia and the name of a planet, or system, or galaxy called Peridea, scoring 2 points. He also name-drops Marrok twice, giving the masked warrior 1 point. The scene ends with a wipe transition, giving Baylan 0.5 points for appearing onscreen. Shin was walking behind one of the monoliths during the transition and did not score points.
Ahsoka arrives on Corellia in her T-6, scoring 1 point for visiting the planet. Chopper scores 1 point for appearing in the episode and he and Hera both score 1 point for visiting Corellia. Hera introduces Ahsoka Tano to Myn Weaver, Regional Supervisor, giving the former Jedi 0.5 points. Myn says Hera’s name, giving her 0.5 points. Myn also name-drops Morgan twice, giving her 1 point. Hera name-drops Sabine, giving her 0.5 points before a wipe transition ends the scene, giving both Ahsoka and Hera 0.5 points.
Sabine scores 0.5 points for appearing during the latter half of the same transition to start the next scene. Sabine says Ezra’s name three times, giving him 1.5 points. She also says Ahsoka’s name twice, giving her 1 point. Both she and Huyang mention Hera by name, giving her 1 point. Huyang also name-drops Ahsoka, giving her 0.5 points.
Back on Corellia, Hera scores 1 point for again saying the phrase “New Republic.” Ahsoka scores 1 point for igniting both lightsabers to fend off an attack from a Corellian dock worker and 0.5 more points for using the Force to push another worker. She uses the Force again to acrobatically leap from a high window, shattering the glass, and landing safely on the ground below.
Marrok is waiting for her on the dock, scoring 1 point for appearing in the episode, 1 point for visiting Corellia, and 0.5 points for wielding a lightsaber. Ahsoka ignites both lightsabers to fight Marrok, scoring 1 point. Marrok then scores 0.5 more points for igniting the second blade of his lightsaber.
Hera says Chopper’s name 4 times, giving him 2 points. She also identifies herself to the transport fleeing the port, scoring 0.5 points.
Ahsoka uses the Force to push Marrok, and he, in turn, uses the Force to stop himself. Both score 0.5 points. Marrok uses the Force to leap onto the ramp of Shin’s approaching shuttle, and to call his thrown lightsaber back to his hand, scoring 1 point. Shin receives 1 point for visiting Corellia. Ahsoka scores 0.5 points for appearing during the wipe transition that ends the scene.
Sabine returns to the old communications tower on Lothal and scores 0.5 points for encountering a loth-cat. She scores 0.5 more points for appearing onscreen during the wipe transition that ends the scene.
Ahsoka, Hera, and Chopper score 0.5 points for appearing during the second half of the same transition to start the next scene. Hera scores 1 point for saying the phrase “The Empire.” Chopper scores 1 point when Hera says his name twice. Ahsoka boards her ship and receives a transmission from Sabine, who scores 2 points for appearing as a hologram. Hera scores 0.5 points for appearing onscreen during the wipe transition that ends the scene.
Sabine scores 0.5 points for appearing during the second half of the same transition that begins the next scene at the monument on Lothal. Both Kanan Jarrus and Zeb Orrelios score 1 point for appearing in the episode. Ahsoka arrives at the monument, scoring 2 points for visiting Lothal again. Huyang says Hera’s name, giving her 0.5 points. Huyang scores 2 points for saying the name of the Denab system and the planet Seatos. The scene ends with a jump to hyperspace, giving Sabine, Ahsoka, and Huyang 2 points each.
On the Eye Of Sion, above the planet Seatos, Baylan, Shin, and Marrok all score 2 points for appearing as a hologram. Morgan name-drops Grand Admiral Thrawn, Ahsoka, and Baylan, giving them all 0.5 points. She also says the name of the planet Corellia, scoring 1 point.
