The Mandalorian Fantasy League Week 7 Recap

Chapter 23: The Spies

Hey Fandalorians!

After a low score last week, this week’s chapter saw the highest points scored of any episode this season, with a season high nine League Characters scoring 148 points. This episode saw the season debut of GROUP C character Moff Gideon and the death of GROUP F character Paz Vizsla. No non-league character has said the word beskar this season, so there were no points in the Beskar Jar when Axe Woves and Moff Gideon said the word. The wipe transitions were challenging to score this week, because many featured a wide shot of a group of masked Mandalorians. Generally, points were awarded to all, unless it was obvious one was not present, or was out of frame. While charging toward the Imperial Dark Troopers, the Mandalorians shouted ‘For Mandalore’ in unison, but the Closed Captioning attributed it to ‘Mandalorians Shouting’ instead of ‘All Mandalorians’ like it has previously, and because no League Character’s voice was distinguishable, no points were awarded. Below is a recap of all the points that were scored in Chapter 23: The Spies.

Of the 25 League Characters competing in the Mandalorian Fantasy League this year, a season high 9 scored points for their teams this week.

The top point scorer this week, for the first time this season, is PAZ VIZSLA with 26 points. He scored 1 point for appearing in this week’s episode and 3 more points for appearing last onscreen. He said the phrase ‘This is the Way’ twice for 1.5 points each, including once as the final line of dialogue for 3 more points. He encountered both the masked Imperial Dark Troopers for 0.5 points and the masked Praetorian Guards for another 0.5 points. He scored 4 points for visiting the planet Mandalore, but none for visiting Nevarro because it was not established he had left the planet since arriving there in Chapter 21. He appeared onscreen during eight wipe transitions for 16 total points. He was penalized -5 points for dying at the hands of the Praetorian Guards at the end of this episode, but still finished with his highest point total of the season. Congratulations to The Nevarro Nine, the only team who picked PAZ VIZSLA in GROUP F this year!

The second leading point scorer this week is MANDO with 21.5 points. He scored 1 point for appearing in the episode and 14 points for appearing onscreen during seven wipe transitions. He visited Nevarro for 2 points and Mandalore for 4 points, where he also encountered the Imperial Dark Troopers for 0.5 more points.

Trailing Mando by 0.5 points, and tied for third place this week, is BO-KATAN KRYZE with 21 points. She scored 1 point for appearing in the episode and 10 points for appearing onscreen during five wipe transitions. She said the name of the planet Mandalore three times for 3 points and the name of the planet Nevarro once for 1 point. She also visited the planet Mandalore for 4 points and the planet Nevarro for 2 points. She held Grogu once for 0.5 points and encountered the Imperial Dark Troopers on Mandalore for 0.5 points. She ignited the Darksaber once for 3 points, but was penalized -2 points both times she removed her helmet.

Tied for third place this week is GROGU with 21 points. He scored 1 point for appearing in the episode and 8 more points for appearing onscreen during four wipe transitions. He was held once by Bo-Katan, once by Greef Karga, and three times by IG-12 for 5 total points. He scored 2 points for visiting the planet Nevarro and 0.5 points for eating the food he stole from a vendor on its streets. Don’t worry, Mando paid the bill! Like the other members of the scout party to Mandalore’s surface, he scored 4 points for visiting the planet Mandalore and 0.5 points for encountering the Imperial Dark Troopers.

Making his season debut in fifth place this week is MOFF GIDEON with 19 points. He was the first League Character to appear onscreen, scoring 5 points, and delivered the first line of dialogue for 5 more points. He scored 1 point for appearing in the episode and 2 points for appearing as a hologram. He said the name of the planet Mandalore three times for 3 points and scored 4 more points for visiting the planet. He appeared onscreen with the Imperial Dark Troopers twice, once near the beginning of the episode, and again near the end, for 0.5 points each time. He was also penalized -2 points for removing his helmet to taunt his enemies.

Close behind Moff Gideon, in sixth place this week, is THE ARMORER with 18 points. She scored 1 point for appearing in the episode and 12 points for appearing onscreen during six wipe transitions. She scored 4 points for visiting Mandalore and 1 point for saying the name of its moon: Concordia.

In seventh place this week is KOSKA REEVES with 13.5 points. She scored 1 point for appearing in the episode and 10 points for appearing onscreen during five wipe transitions. She scored 2 points for visiting Nevarro, 4 points for visiting Mandalore, and 0.5 points for encountering the Imperial Dark Troopers there. She was penalized -4 total points for removing her helmet twice.

Tied with Koska Reeves for seventh place this week is AXE WOVES with 13.5 points. Like his fellow Nite Owl, he scored 1 point for appearing in the episode and 10 points for appearing onscreen during five wipe transitions. Likewise, he scored 2 points for visiting Nevarro, 4 points for visiting Mandalore, and 0.5 points for encountering the Imperial Dark Troopers there. He was also penalized -4 total points for removing his helmet twice.

In last place this week is the High Magistrate of Nevarro, GREEF KARGA, with 2.5 points. He scored 1 point for appearing in the episode, 1 point for saying the name of the planet Coruscant while presenting Mando with a token of his esteem, and 0.5 points for holding Grogu while placing him inside the hollow shell of IG-12.

Every other League Character was penalized -0.5 points for not appearing in this episode.
