The Mandalorian Fantasy League Week 5 Recap

Chapter 21: The Pirate

Hey Fandalorians,

More points were scored by League Characters this week than in any previous week: an astounding 120.5. This week saw the season debut of GROUP G characters Carson Teva and Jib Dodger, plus the debut of three league characters who were not chosen by any teams this year: Trapper Wolf, Sash Ketter and Zeb Orrelios. We returned to Coruscant and Nevarro this week and points were scored for an encounter with an X-Wing Fighter for the first time this season. Carson Teva said the word ‘beskar,’ but once again there were no points in the Beskar Jar. Below is a recap of all the points scored in Chapter 21: The Pirate.

Of the 25 League Characters competing in the Mandalorian Fantasy League this year, a season high 8 scored points for their teams this week.

The top point scorer this week, in his season debut, is the Adelphi Squadron New Republic pilot CARSON TEVA with 27 points. He scored 1 point for appearing in this week’s episode, 3 points for appearing onscreen last, and 3 more points for speaking the final line of dialogue. He said the phrase ‘Outer Rim’ for 1.5 points, the name of the planet Nevarro five times for 5 points, and the name of the planet Coruscant twice for 2 more points. He appeared onscreen during one wipe transition for 2 points and scored 1.5 points each of the three times he was seen onscreen with his X-Wing Fighter: approaching Coruscant, visiting the Mandalorian covert, and investigating the wreckage of the Lambda-class shuttle transporting Moff Gideon. Rounding out his scoring was 5 points for visiting Coruscant, seeking aid from the New Republic to defend Nevarro from Gorian Shard. Congratulations to The Nevarro Nine: the only team that picked CARSON TEVA in GROUP G this year!

The second leading point scorer this week was GREEF KARGA, outdoing his Chapter 17 performance of 16 points, with 22 points. He scored 1 point for appearing in the episode and 2 points both times he appeared as a hologram: once at the New Republic’s outer rim base and again in Colonel Tuttle’s office on Coruscant. He scored 4 points for being onscreen for two wipe transitions. The High Magistrate of Nevarro was the first character to appear onscreen and the first to speak a line of dialogue, earning 5 points each for a total of 10 points. He said the name of the planet Nevarro three times for 3 points, but does not receive points for visiting the planet in this episode because it was not established that he left Nevarro and returned since he was last seen there in Chapter 17.

In third place this week was BO-KATAN KRYZE, earning her second highest point total this season with 20.5 points. She scored 1 point for appearing in the episode and 1 point for saying the name of the planet Nevarro. She was onscreen during six wipe transitions, scoring 12 total points. She earned 1.5 points for encountering Carson Teva’s X-Wing Fighter and 2 points for entering hyperspace en route to liberate Nevarro from Gorian Shard’s assault. She also scored 2 points for visiting Nevarro. She said ‘This is the Way’ twice, scoring 1.5 points each time. One of those times was in chorus with other Mandalorians. Her voice was not distinguishable, but the Closed Captioning on the episode described ‘ALL’ of the Mandalorians repeating the phrase after Paz Vizsla said it, so she was awarded points. She would have been the second highest point scorer this week if she was not penalized -2 points for removing her helmet in the final minutes of the episode.

In fourth place for the second consecutive week is MANDO with 18.5 points. He scored 1 point for appearing in the episode and 1.5 more points for saying the phrase ‘This is the Way’ in chorus with other Mandalorians, using the same reasoning applied to Bo-Katan. He said the name of the planet Nevarro twice for 2 points and scored 2 more points for visiting the planet. He was onscreen during four wipe transitions, scoring 8 total points, and held Grogu once for 0.5 points. His final scores came from encountering an X-Wing Fighter for 1.5 points and entering hyperspace for 2 points..

Continuing his domination of GROUP F this season is PAZ VIZSLA, in fifth place this week, with 13 points. He scored 1 point for appearing in the episode and 1.5 point for saying the phrase ‘This is the Way.’ He scored 2 points for visiting the planet Nevarro and 1 more point for saying its name. He was onscreen during two wipe transitions, scoring 4 total points. Like Bo-Katan and Mando this week, he scored 1.5 points for encountering an X-Wing Fighter and 2 points for entering hyperspace.

In sixth place this week is THE ARMORER with 11.5 points. She scored 1 point for appearing in the episode and 1.5 points for saying the phrase ‘This is the Way.’ Because she said it to Paz Vizsla after the chorus of Mandalorians, it can be assumed she did not say it along with the others, so she did not receive points for saying the phrase twice. She did say the name of the planet Mandalore three times, scoring 3 points. She also scored 2 points for appearing onscreen during one wipe transition and 2 more points for entering hyperspace. Finishing out her scoring this week was 2 points for visiting the planet Nevarro, where her combat skills were instrumental in liberating the planet from pirates.

Finishing with his second lowest point total this season, and in seventh place this week, is GROGU with 10 points. He scored 1 point for appearing in the episode and 1 point when Mando held him. He appeared onscreen during two wipe transitions, scoring 4 total points. He also scored 2 points each for entering hyperspace and visiting the planet Nevarro.

Making his season debut this week, and finishing in eighth place with 6.5 points, is JIB DODGER. He scored 1 point for appearing in the episode and 2 more points for appearing onscreen during one wipe transition. He scored 0.5 points for sipping spotchka with his fellow pilots at the New Republic base and 3 more points because spotchka is blue.

This week also saw the debut of two additional characters in GROUP G who were not picked by any of the five teams competing in the Mandalorian Fantasy League this season. X-Wing pilots TRAPPER WOLF and SASH KETTER both had cameos along with JIB DODGER at the New Republic base. Both scored 1 point for appearing in the episode and 2 points for appearing onscreen during one wipe transition. SASH KETTER also scored 3.5 total points for taking a sip of blue spotchka. Had she been picked, SASH KETTER would have scored 6.5 points for her team and tied JIB DODGER for eighth place. TRAPPER WOLF would have scored 3 points for his team, finishing in last place. Becoming the only character in GROUP I to appear in an episode this season is Star Wars: Rebels star ZEB ORRELIOS. He was not picked by any team this season, but would have scored 4 points this week by appearing in the episode, appearing onscreen during one wipe transition, and saying the name of the planet Nevarro.

Every other League Character was penalized -0.5 points for not appearing in this episode.

How did the teams fare this week? Finishing in first place for the first time this season is THE NEVARRO NINE with 67.5 points and a scoring lineup of MANDO, THE ARMORER, PAZ VIZSLA, and CARSON TEVA.

In second place this week is MY CHAMPIONSHIP LINEUP with 58 points and a scoring lineup of MANDO, GREEF KARGA, and BO-KATAN KRYZE.

In third place for the second consecutive week is THE BEGGAR’S CANYON BULLIES with 49.5 points and a scoring lineup of GROGU, GREEF KARGA, and BO-KATAN KRYZE.

Close behind them in fourth place this week is BLUE OREOS IN BLUE MILK with 46 points and a scoring lineup of GROGU, BO-KATAN KRYZE, THE ARMORER, and JIB DODGER.

In last place again this week is UNNAMED TEAM with 37 points and a scoring lineup of MANDO and GREEF KARGA.
