The Mandalorian Fantasy League Week 3 Recap

Chapter 19: The Convert

Hey Fandalorians,

Points were scarce in Week 3 as Mando and Grogu were missing for much of the action – appearing briefly at the start and end of the chapter. We visited Coruscant for the first time this series and witnessed the first appearance this season of Dr. Penn Pershing. This was the first episode of the season without a classic wipe transition and no character said the word ‘beskar,’ meaning no points were added to the Beskar Jar. One note to be aware of: Mando, Grogu, and Bo-Katan did not score additional points for beginning this episode on the planet Mandalore because their visit is a continuation from the previous episode. Below is a recap of all the points that were scored in Chapter 19: The Convert.

Of the 25 League Characters competing in the Mandalorian Fantasy League this year, 6 scored points for their teams this week.

The top point scorer this week was MANDO, with 21 points. As always, he scored 1 point for simply appearing in this week’s episode. He also scored 5 points for appearing first on screen this week (shared with GROGU and BO-KATAN.) After regaining consciousness from his plunge into the Living Waters deep in the Mines Of Mandalore, he spoke the first line of dialogue for 5 more points. He said ‘This is the Way‘ three times in this episode, including once as the final line of dialogue (shared with PAZ VIZSLA.) He scored 1.5 points each time (4.5 total points) plus 3 more points for speaking the final line of dialogue. He said the name of BO-KATAN’s planet Kalevala once and the name of the planet Mandalore once for 1 point each. He held GROGU in the Mines of Mandalore for 0.5 points, bringing his weekly total to 21, his lowest score of the season so far, but good enough to be the highest score this week. Congratulations to everyone who chose MANDO in GROUP A this year!

The second leading point scorer this week was DR. PERSHING, with 12 points. He scored 1 point for appearing in the episode, and 2 more for appearing as a hologram during his presentation at the Opera House last seen in Revenge Of The Sith. After his presentation, he uttered the phrase ‘outer rim‘ to some adoring fans for 1.5 points. He also said the name of the city-planet Coruscant for 1 point and scored 5 additional points for visiting it. The good doctor had quite an appetite in this episode, scoring 1.5 points for consuming a food or beverage three times: toasting the New Republic with fellow members of the amnesty program; enjoying a glowing, purple lollipop in Monument Plaza with Elia Kane; and taking a bite from an Imperial travel biscuit. Not a bad week for DR. PENN PERSHING – we hope to see more of him in future episodes.

The next leading point scorer this week was BO-KATAN KRYZE, with 10.5 points. Like MANDO, she scored 1 point for appearing in the episode and 5 more points for being one of three League Characters appearing first on screen. She said the phrase ‘This is the Way’ once for 1.5 points and scored 3 points for being the final character to appear on screen. She was not credited with saying ‘This is the Way‘ with the other Mandalorians at the end of this episode. Her voice was not distinguishable in the chorus and it was determined she would not have repeated the words of THE ARMORER since she does not ‘walk the Way.’ Both MANDO and PAZ VIZSLA are known to repeat the mantra whenever THE ARMORER says it, so both were credited with points, even though their voices were not necessarily distinguishable in the chorus either.

The next leading point scorer this week (and falling out of the top two spots for the first time this season) was GROGU, with 7 points. Our favorite child scored 1 point for appearing in the episode and 5 more for appearing first on screen (shared with MANDO and BO-KATAN.) His only other point came from being held one time by MANDO in the Mines of Mandalore.

Tying GROGU with 7 points this week was PAZ VIZSLA. The giant Mandalorian scored 1 point for appearing in the episode’s final minutes and 1.5 more points both times he said the phrase ‘This is the Way.’ One of those times was also the final line of dialogue spoken in the episode (part of a chorus with other Mandalorians) earning him 3 additional points.

The only other character to score points this week was THE ARMORER, with 4 points. She scored 1 point for appearing in the episode and 1.5 more points both times she said the phrase ‘This is the Way.’

Every other League Character was penalized -0.5 points for not appearing in this episode.
